What’s The Difference Between, P2, FFP2, N95 and KN95 Masks?

According to mask manufacturer 3M, “it is reasonable to consider” China’s KN95s “equivalent” to US N95s. Mask standards for Europe (FFP2), Australia (P2), Korea (KMOEL), and Japan (DS) are also highly similar.

One key difference is the KN95 standard requires a fit test unlike the N95. 

Valve or no valve:- A mask with no valve filters air in both directions, while a mask with a valve allows unfiltered air out.  A mask with a valve will protect you while a mask without a valve will protect you and others from you.  That added comfort of a valve comes at a cost.
